Frequently Asked Questions

How can I maximise my experience on the Accelerator programme?

Diarise the dates for the workshops from the outset so you don’t miss any and block out some reflection time before and after.  We will be setting up a dedicated group within the Community for those on the programme, so pop in there regularly to grow your peer support and exchange thoughts and ideas. At the end of each workshop, note down some small actions to take away before the next workshop and diarise time to get these done. Take advantage of the momentum of the programme to accelerate your return to work!

Will the workshops be recorded?

The coaching workshops will not be recorded as we are hoping to build a trusted and confidential space amongst those participating. This will enable everyone to interact live and engage in the coaching exercises, gaining much more from the experience.

What if I can’t attend a workshop?

All participants will be sent a workbook ahead of each workshop, so you’ll know what’s being covered. Pop into the Accelerator Group in the Community and leave any questions you may have about what you missed in the chat and one of your fellow participants or a member of the coaching team will respond.

Will this programme help me if I’m considering a career change rather than returning to my previous profession?

Yes. Many returners use their career break as an opportunity to reassess their priorities and explore new directions. The programme will help you identify and gain clarity on your strengths, transferable skills and future career options.

I’m lacking confidence. Do I need to feel ‘ready’ before joining?

Not at all. Many participants join because their confidence has taken a knock during their career break. Rebuilding self-belief is a core part of the Accelerator and often one of the most transformational benefits participants experience.

What if I haven’t started applying for jobs yet?

That’s completely fine. The programme is suitable whether you’re just beginning to think about returning to work or are already actively job searching. It will help you develop a clear and structured plan for your next steps.

What makes the biggest difference to a successful return?

For many returners, it’s rebuilding confidence and professional identity. When you’re able to clearly articulate your experience, recognise the value you’ve gained during your career break and confidently tell your career story, everything else becomes easier, from networking to applications and interviews… and ultimately securing your next role. A graduate from our recent Spring Accelerator cohort said, Thank you all for a fantastic programme – it has helped me immensely in clarifying my story for myself and what I should be looking for. The tools and techniques were concrete and tangible whilst also insight-generating! I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs similar support.”

Do you review our CVs and help provide feedback?

CV review isn’t included in the price of the Accelerator, but we will give you clear coaching on the best way to craft a compelling CV and how to position your break. There is an option to include an additional 1:1 CV review at a discounted rate for programme participants.

What is the refund policy if I can no longer participate in the programme?

We understand that circumstances may change. Refunds will be given up until 23:59 (UK Time) on 14 September 2026. Please email info@careerreturners.com to request your refund.
