About the BlackRock Returner Programme

The Returner Programme is designed to encourage and support a return to full-time work through a six-month paid returnship starting in September 2024. The returner programme acts as a feeder to full-time permanent employment (subject to individual performance and market conditions).

How they will support you:

  • They will offer a variety of employee networks to help you integrate into the business and culture
  • Provide a mentor and buddy for your day-to-day questions
  • Provide coaching and peer support

To qualify for the program, participants must have the following:

  • A career break of at least 24 months (no upper limit). During your career break you may have been working small-scale around other commitments or have not done any paid work.
  • Prior experience in Investment Management or Financial Services
  • Must be authorised to work in the UK

Opportunities on the Programme

BlackRock Transformation Office, VP Level, London

BlackRock Transformation Office (BTO) is a global group of change professionals that deliver strategic transformation to help make BlackRock greater than the sum of its parts. They drive delivery of the most sophisticated and impactful transformational initiatives across the firm.

You will apply your knowledge to some of the firm’s most strategic, complex and high-valued projects. You will have the opportunity to drive scale, ensure consistency and reduce risk across the firm. This is not your traditional project management role; they are looking for extraordinary problem solvers who want to learn the details and be heavily involved in designing and implementing scalable solutions. They act as the “connective tissue” between the various lines of business by applying in-depth knowledge of BlackRock’s organisation, processes and technology in order to implement change.

Client Experience, Associate Level, Edinburgh

Their mission within the Client Experience (CX) organisation is to make it easier for clients to do business with BlackRock, making service so simple it becomes a source of alpha. This role sits within CX Delivery and in partnership with the Client Businesses, is responsible for, the oversight of the servicing of the firm’s UK Family Office, Endowment & Foundation clients. This includes service delivery, developing service solutions, and the enhancement of the client experience.

You will work directly with Consultant Firms and BlackRock’s mutual clients to resolve operational client issues and raise more complex subject matters to internal partners. Initially supporting senior members of the team in all aspects of client service, you will be encouraged to progress rapidly, and take on responsibility for independent client coverage. You will also collaborate with other internal teams to generate Requests for Proposal (RFP) responses by researching the operational data needed.

Aladdin Engineering, Associate Level, Edinburgh

The team (Service Management) is responsible for leading the remediation of critical production incidents and driving efforts to identify problems and implement enhancements and changes across BlackRock and their Aladdin clients to prevent recurrence.

This role involves developing connections with versatile experts around the world and interacting with a variety of technologies and applications. The role will also include participation in project work which strives to further improve the stability, performance, and resilience of the Aladdin platform.

Global Investment Operations (GIO), Associate Level, Edinburgh

BlackRock is currently seeking Associate Operations professional to become part of the Global Investment Operations team. The diverse function spans Trading & Market Documentation, Transaction Management, Collateral Management, Payments, Corporate Actions, Cash & Asset Operations, and Securities Lending Operations. It plays an integral role within the organisation interacting with multiple internal and external parties to ensure risk is minimised, processes are efficient and high levels of client service are achieved, in what is an evolving and dynamic environment.

Aladdin Client Transformation, Associate Level, Edinburgh

The BlackRock Solutions Aladdin Client Transformation Project team is looking for an Associate to manage project plans, coordinate tasks with a matrix team, identify and manage risks and issues, serve as the central point of contact, drive project progress, handle project reporting, manage project resourcing, track financials, and lead on eFront and smaller projects with Delivery oversight.

Aladdin Integration Solutions, Associate Level, Edinburgh

They are seeking a dynamic Specialist with a proven track record in data integration and data conversion to join their growing Integration Solutions Practice. This role is pivotal in scaling their projects across various asset classes and front-to-back Aladdin services, employing Aladdin’s Studio platform and its robust capabilities in data integration and onboarding – which include file-based mechanisms, APIs, and the Aladdin Data Cloud. This is a client-facing position offering an opportunity to collaborate with a broad range of internal stakeholders at BlackRock.

Their hybrid work model

BlackRock’s current hybrid work model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to their culture, while supporting increased flexibility for all employees. In line with local health guidance and regulations, employees are required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
