Join Career Returners, the Insurance Families Network and 5 leading employers on 30 January for the launch of a new Insurance Cross-Company Returner Programme!

Career Returners (previously Women Returners) is partnering with the Insurance Families Network, a volunteer-led organisation aiming to make insurance family friendly, to deliver a new 6-month returnship programme for individuals who wish to return to the insurance sector.

We are delighted to be partnering with Ageas, Fidelis MGU, First-Central, Howden Group and Markel to offer a variety of opportunities on the programme.

The returner programme will open for applications in mid-January.

About the Insurance Cross-Company Returner Programme

The programme offers a 6-month returnship placement with one of the participating employers. It will commence on 7 May 2024 with a strong likelihood of permanent employment at the end of the programme.

Positions are at a professional level with a range of roles available. Examples of business areas include:

  • Underwriting
  • Claims
  • Legal
  • Finance
  • Technology

Further information on role opportunities will be advertised when the programme application process opens in late-January.

This is a fully supported route back to work. You will receive internal mentoring and a buddy, together with Career Returners Coaching support to help you to transition successfully back into the workplace. As coaching will be delivered centrally to the cohort, you will benefit from a supportive peer network of like-minded people across all the organisations. Various flexible working options may be available during and after the programme depending on the employer organisation and the role.

How will you benefit from the launch event?

Join us to find out more about how the programme will support you back to professional level employment within the insurance sector. You will hear directly from the employers on the programme about their organisation and opportunities on offer, and be able to ask your questions.

To help you prepare for the application process and as a follow-on from the launch event, Career Returners is providing two support workshops:

  • How to Create a Compelling CV – Thursday 1 February, 11-12
  • Interview Preparation – Thursday 29 February, 11-12

Who is the launch event for?

The event is targeted at experienced professionals who have had an extended career break of at least 18 months (as at May 2024), who are looking to return to work within the insurance sector, and who are interested in applying for the returnship programme. You may have taken time out to look after children or elderly/sick relatives, for relocation, for a personal health issue or for other reasons. You may have been working on a small-scale basis to fit around your other commitments or have not done any paid work for a number of years.

You must have the right to work in the UK to attend the launch event and apply to the programme.
